In 1996, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the McLaren F1s caused a sensation in the GT1 class. The no. 39 of Team Bigazzi SRL in FINA colors allowed former Formula 1 driver Nelson Piquet to get his best result in this event for his very first participation!
